Pro Bono Work:

Although Mr. Muhr devotes his practice exclusively to Personal Injury Litigation, he has never turned down a case when he strongly believed that a person desperately needed legal assistance. Mr. Muhr represented a former Chief of Police who was charged with Sexual Assault on a Minor. The police officer was innocent. Mr. Muhr proceeded to a jury trial where the jury found the police officer not guilty. The officer died of stroke a few weeks after the jury trial, most likely related to the intense stress of the trial.

Mr. Muhr represented a medical provider who was charged with attempted rape of his patient. He was innocent. The trial judge dismissed the case at a Preliminary Hearing and the Court of Appeals, in a unanimous decision, upheld the dismissal.
Mr. Muhr represented the parents of a five-year-old boy who was taken from the parents based on improper allegations of abuse. The parents were innocent. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the parents and a civil action was then brought against the Department of Social Services and the County promptly reached a confidential settlement.
Mr. Muhr represented a cadet who was a star football player on the Air Force Academy’s football team. The Air Force charged the cadet with illegal drug use. He was innocent. Mr. Muhr subpoenaed the Air Force Academy’s football coach and other critical witnesses to testify on behalf of the cadet. The military jury, comprising both senior level commissioned officers and enlisted personnel, returned a unanimous verdict in favor of the cadet.

Some of Mr. Muhr’s most rewarding work was to help people in need, and in all of these cases, and others, he volunteered his time and charged zero or extremely minimal fees in order to help these wrongly accused people.
