Mr. Gerson is a native Atlantan and has been a personal injury trial lawyer for over 34 years.

After graduating from Emory Law School in 1976, he accepted a job with a prominent insurance defense law firm in Atlanta, Georgia and represented insurance companies and their insureds who had been sued as a result of automobile, trucking, motorcycle or other types of accidents. After becoming a partner and successfully doing this type of trial work for over 6 years, he realized that he is better suited to representing injured people rather than insurance companies.

In 1982, he left his secure job and since then have represented hundreds of people throughout the State of Georgia who have been injured by the negligence of others. He has participated in scores of trials resulting in verdicts such as one for $950,000.00 in a case involving an elderly woman forced off the road by a timber truck, one for $250,000.00 for a young man who lost his toe due to a defective lawn mower cut-off switch, $95,000.00 for a middle aged lady involved in a low impact collision resulting in a disputed rotator cuff tear and $35,000 for a low impact soft tissue back injury case in a small Georgia rural county.

Mr. Gerson has also settled many cases either before or during trial, including a products liability seatbelt-hood intrusion case for $3,400,000.00, a wrongful death automobile collision case for $1,000,000.00, five wrongful death medical malpractice cases ranging from $350,000.00 to $2,6000,000.00, several medical malpractice cases resulting from negligent acts such as failure to diagnose an impending appendicitis, failure to detect a metal fragment lodged in my client’s eye with the resulting loss of sight in one eye, failure to properly diagnose and treat a urinary tract infection and failure to recognize and treat dehydration in a young child, among others.
