Unfortunately, Core Distribution, the maker of the ladder, has not recalled the faulty model, even though they have issued a replacement model. The defective ladder is silver and black, and the replacement model is yellow and silver.
The XTend & Climb Ladder model 770 telescoping ladder is designed to be portable and easy to use. It is compact, about two or three feet tall, and it extends to the length of a regular ladder. There are two locking mechanisms for each step, so that as you extend it, each step locks into place. In our client’s case, one of the steps did not fully lock into place, and the ladder lacked a positive locking mechanism so our client could not see that the locks had not fully engaged. Our client had climbed to the top of the ladder to work when one step collapsed beneath him, causing the ladder to fall with him on it.
If you have been injured as a result of using the faulty XTend & Climb Ladder model 770, call William Muhr, LLP personal injury lawyer today. Call 800-934-4529 for a free consultation with an experienced attorney.
